The One That Broke Me

OK! So This is the last piece I made for the Long Island Pirate Festival. It broke me. Absolutely broke me lol - In order to finish it I was forced to wrap my pliers with paper towels to minimize the pain of my invisible but SO not unfelt blisters!

That said, stats are as follows!
For the most part the weave is; if I am not mistaken, it IS my first one of this type; Japanese 12-1?

I used Copper and Stainless Steel, exact stats on those to follow

The setting is copper and it is holding a dyed shell point - it measures approximately 18 inches give or take.

Let the Birka Prep Begin!

OK!

So not only will my chainmail be at Birka this year, but so will I!!!

In light of this fantastic occurance, I am begining prep both in the realm of making jewelry etc and preping my space.

I need to take my buisiness in hand here and make it work - so I bought oversize index cards to sketch and write the details of special orders and a colapsable wallet to file them in. I also bought a colapsable file to organize my paperwork with which will also contain the orders wallet.

Visual area prep will include the re-painting/re-purposing of some display area elements I aquired (platform kit type stuff, not necks etc) and I am begining that project now.

Also, The card I designed needs to go to the printers so I can bring actual buisiness cards with me to hand out.

I'm gonna start the new year out by taking my budding buisiness seriously and making some connections at Birka! WOOT!

Well I would almost consider myself to be a compulsive crafter. I went to school in visual communications and graphic design and quite enjoyed myself there.

I recently took up . . . well not so recently now, its been a couple of years. . . oh well, I took up chainmail out of need and kept going out of sheer enjoyment! I needed armour for my LARP character Andra Cassidy, who is an in game charm maker with a buisiness called "The Charms of Andra Cassidy" so naturaly when I started selling my chainmail pieces I called that buisiness "The Chains of Andra Cassidy"

I am waiting to see how well I do before I make it oficial though hehehe.

Critiques are fully welcome and if different views would be helpfull for complete understanding and full critique just let me know and I should have them up inside of a week or less!
